Fire & Steel Theatre Company is the in-house theatre company at Marple Drama. Fire & Steel is aimed at young people aged 13 to 19 who wish to develop honest and truthful acting skills with the aim of working towards performance. Our actors are committed, talented, enthusiastic, passionate and brave, and are prepared to be challenged in an inspiring and supportive group setting. Auditions & rehearsals take place at All Saints’ Primary School, Marple, Cheshire.
Carl originally trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School and The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He taught drama at North Trafford College of FE and has spent the last 15 years working with actors as an acting coach and director. He is a director at Marple Drama and alongside talent agent Rachel Bailey, is the co-founder of the boutique talent agency, CiekaBailey Associates.

Fire and Steel Theatre Company take part in the National Theatre Connections Festival. Recent productions include: ‘Blank’ by Alice Birch (HOME, Manchester), ‘Extremism’ by Anders Lustgarten (The Lowry), ‘What Are They Like?’ by Lucinda Coxon (The Lowry), ‘I’m Spilling My Heart Out Here’ by Stacey Gregg (Carver Theatre), and ‘Same’ by Deborah Bruce (Carver Theatre)
