NATIONAL THEATRE CONNECTIONS 2016

We are very excited to announce that we have been chosen to take part in The National Theatre Connections Festival 2016!!!! A brilliant opportunity for our older students! This means that we will be given a full play to rehearse and finally perform at The Royal Exchange or The Lowry. We will get full support from the National Theatre and if we are strong enough contenders, we could be one of 12 companies who finally get to perform their show at The Royal National Theatre! Very exciting!!

X-MEN STAR JAMES McAVOY IN FUNDING PLEDGE

A great article and a very generous pledge from X-Men star, James McAvoy…..

“Drama breaks through barriers and it can give people the tools to walk into a room and express themselves.

“I really believe in that; it’s why I believe drama should be taught in our state schools from an early age…………”

CANCELLATION OF CLASSES

Following on from an earlier post and with advice from All Saints School, we have taken the decision to cancel all our classes tomorrow (Saturday 31st January 2015), as we are unable to guarantee the health & safety of students and staff on site due to hazardous conditions both on site and the surrounding area. This is caused by snow and ice. The council have been unable to grit the surrounding areas to make access to the site safe.

We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to hopefully seeing everyone next week!

Best wishes

Carl & Naomi

JULIE HESMONDHALGH – ROYAL COURT

Huge Congratulations to Marple Drama patron, Julie Hesmondhalgh, who recently opened in God Bless The Child, at The Royal Court Theatre, London.

DETAILS: ‘Badger Do Best’ has landed, bringing with it a new world of rules and regulations. But the kids are fighting back. Tired of being guinea pigs, in yet another government scheme, can the class of 4N bring down the education regime set to pacify them?
