I hope you’re all well and enjoying the rainy Summer!
Ahead of the new term I’m restructuring the pricing system and implementing a termly fee of £120.
This new termly fee will mean that there will be no additional charges for the many rehearsals held on top of the regular Saturday classes. This works out as £8 per class for a minimum of 45 hours over the year.
As you’re aware during the summer term, rehearsal times and days increase and rather than a large summer term invoice, this feels more manageable.
The Autumn term is 14 weeks long and will commence on Saturday 9th September until and inclusive of Saturday 16th December. We will have 1 Saturday off on Saturday 28th October.
I appreciate that we are in a difficult time with rising costs of living and would also like to introduce a ‘refer a friend’ offer. If you would like to introduce one new friend who books on for a term, then you will get one lesson free in the term. They will need to mention your name on booking.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions, I am more than happy to discuss.
We’re delighted to announce two new productions coming very soon. REMOTE by Stef Smith will be performed on the 12th & 13th July 8pm at Marple Hall Drama Studio and CHAOS by Laura Lomas will be performed on Saturday 15th July 8pm at Marple Hall Drama Studio. You can get your tickets here.
Fire & Steel Theatre is planning to take part in the National Theatre Connections Festival 2020/21, and is looking to start rehearsals in September or October, depending on NTC guidelines.
The arts, and the impact they have on the lives of young people, are more important than ever, and we are passionate about the role Connections can play to support young people in this very challenging time.
As we move towards autumn and the start of a new term, we are looking at ways of rehearsing that maintains social distancing and keeps everyone safe. We have complied a risk assessment which has been accepted by our rehearsal venue, All Saints’ School.
Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at All Saints’ School, Marple.
If you’re aged 13 to 19 and wish to take part in NTC, please see
As you’re probably aware from recent Government announcements, the NT has decided to cancel all performances and activity for the foreseeable future. This, unfortunately, includes activity surrounding Connections 2020.
All performances of ‘The IT’, by Vivienne Franzmann, at All Saints’ School, have been cancelled.
It is extremely disappointing news and I find myself carrying a very heavy heart. It all feels so rushed, unfinished, the circle incomplete. It’s a very frustrating way to end what has been a challenging, exciting, frustrating and often amusing journey. We have (finally!) created a beautiful, rich, moving, important piece of work that deserves to be seen. I really hope we can find a way to make that happen. We need to finish the process and finish on a high!
