BLANK – NATIONAL THEATRE CONNECTIONS 2018

‘BLANK’ by Alice Birch.

What happens when adults are absent from the lives of children??

Alice Birch’s commission for NTC and Clean Break is a collection of 100 scenes telling the innumerable stories of women and children affected by the criminal justice system. BLANK explores the unacknowledged victims of crime: the children who are inevitably left behind.

Lacking a conventional narrative and structure, BLANK offers an opportunity to create a unique piece of theatre. We have taken just 18 of the 100 scenes and woven them together with a live soundtrack to create an evening of challenging, moving, humorous and often disturbing story telling.

Contains strong language and subject matter throughout.
